Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz can refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (or 2 tablespoons) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (seeds removed)
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • 12 fresh jalapeños, sliced (optional)
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: dice tomatoes (remove seeds), slice jalapeños and green onions, shred cheese, and stir refried beans in a bowl to loosen.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sour cream and taco seasoning until smooth.
  3. Spread refried beans evenly in a 9×13-inch dish to form the first layer.
  4. Gently spread seasoned sour cream over the beans as the second layer.
  5. Spoon guacamole over the sour cream and spread gently as the third layer.
  6. Pour salsa over the guacamole and spread evenly as the fourth layer.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the salsa as the fifth layer.
  8. Scatter shredded lettuce over the cheese as the sixth layer.
  9. Top with diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, jalapeños, and green onions as the seventh layer.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving (optional but recommended).

Notes

For best texture, let refried beans come to room temperature before spreading. Drain salsa if watery to avoid soggy dip. Shred cheese from a block for better melting. Can be assembled up to the cheese layer a day in advance; add fresh toppings just before serving.
