cherry limeade recipe - featured image

A simple, delicious cherry limeade made with fresh cherries and lime juice, perfect for cooling down on hot summer days. This refreshing drink balances tart and sweet flavors with a fizzy sparkle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 3 large fresh limes (about ½ cup or 120ml juice)
  • ⅓ cup (65g) granulated sugar, or to taste
  • 4 cups (1 liter) cold sparkling water
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional), for garnish
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove pits and halve 1 cup (150g) of fresh cherries. If using frozen, thaw completely and drain any excess liquid.
  2. Place cherries in a blender or food processor and pulse until you get a chunky puree—not completely smooth. Alternatively, muddle with a pestle for a rustic texture.
  3. Cut 3 large limes in half and juice them to get about ½ cup (120ml) of fresh lime juice, removing any seeds.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the granulated sugar (⅓ cup or 65g) with the fresh lime juice. Stir vigorously until the sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Pour the cherry puree into the pitcher with the lime-sugar blend and stir gently to combine.
  6. Slowly add 4 cups (1 liter) of cold sparkling water to the pitcher. Stir gently to mix without losing too much fizz.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lime juice as desired. Add a tiny pinch of sea salt if preferred.
  8. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the cherry limeade over. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Do not overblend cherries to keep some texture. Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Chill cherry puree ahead for extra cold drink. Stir gently after adding sparkling water to preserve fizz. Adjust sugar to taste. Frozen cherries can be used after thawing and draining excess juice.
