A fun, silly way to get little ones to eat a balanced snack without a fight. This quick turkey-shaped charcuterie board comes together in under 10 minutes and is perfect for after-school meltdowns or last-minute playdates.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8–10 slices of deli turkey (oven-roasted preferred)
  • 1 cup of cheese cubes (cheddar or colby jack)
  • 1/2 cup of seedless red grapes (halved lengthwise)
  • 1/4 cup of cherry tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 cup of cucumber slices (cut into half-moons or small rounds)
  • 1/4 cup of bell pepper strips (red or orange)
  • 1/4 cup of baby carrots (halved lengthwise)
  • 1/4 cup of black olives (sliced, optional)
  • 1 small round cracker (for the head, e.g., Ritz)
  • 1 sliver of carrot (for the beak)
  • 1 tiny round of cheese or a small grape (for the eye)
  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary or parsley (for the wattle, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing or hummus (for dipping)
  • A handful of crackers or pita chips (to fill gaps)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Wash and dry grapes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and bell pepper. Cut cheese into small cubes (about 1/2 inch). Halve grapes lengthwise. Slice cucumber into half-moons. Cut bell pepper into thin strips. Set everything aside in small bowls.
  2. Build the turkey body: On a large serving board, layer turkey slices to form a rough oval shape in the center. Use about 6-8 slices, slightly overlapping.
  3. Add the feathers: Behind the turkey body, fan out pretzel sticks in a semi-circle. Layer cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, and baby carrot halves between the pretzels to create a colorful tail.
  4. Decorate the body: Scatter cheese cubes and halved grapes evenly over the turkey slice body. Press them in gently. Add cherry tomatoes if using.
  5. Make the face: At the front of the body, place one small round cracker for the head. Add a tiny sliver of carrot for the beak (pointing outward). Place a small dot of cheese or a single grape half for the eye. Tuck a small sprig of rosemary under the beak for the wattle.
  6. Add the dip and fill gaps: Place a small bowl of ranch or hummus near the tail feathers. Fill any empty spaces with extra crackers, pita chips, or a few more grapes.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don’t overthink the shape—a turkey is lumpy. Pat wet ingredients dry to prevent soggy crackers. Prep all ingredients before assembly. Let kids help place the feathers for fun. Serve immediately for best texture.
