A quick and easy Halloween snack mix combining popcorn, candy corn, pretzels, and white chocolate. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or last-minute treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels, or one standard bag of microwave popcorn, popped and cooled slightly)
  • 1 cup candy corn (preferably Brach’s)
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists (salted)
  • 1/2 cup dry-roasted peanuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup candy pumpkins or autumn M&Ms
  • 12 ounces white melting wafers (such as Ghirardelli or Merckens)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons orange and black sprinkles (jimmies work best)
  • Flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn. If using microwave popcorn, pop one standard bag according to package directions. Open carefully, dump into a large mixing bowl, and pick out any unpopped kernels. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the mix-ins. To the bowl of popcorn, add candy corn, mini pretzel twists, peanuts (if using), and candy pumpkins or autumn M&Ms. Gently toss to distribute evenly.
  3. Melt the white chocolate. Place white melting wafers and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and fully melted (about 1-2 minutes). Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Drizzle and toss. Pour melted white chocolate over the popcorn mixture. Use a rubber spatula to gently fold until everything is evenly coated. Work quickly.
  5. Spread to set. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the coated mixture in an even layer. While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with orange and black sprinkles and a light dusting of flaky sea salt. Let sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes until set, or refrigerate for 5-7 minutes.
  6. Break into pieces. Once set, break the mixture into manageable clusters. Transfer to a serving bowl or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For best results, let popcorn cool completely before adding white chocolate to prevent clumping. Use fresh candy corn for optimal chewiness. For nut-free version, omit peanuts and check labels. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Do not refrigerate.
