Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (64 oz) bottle of fruit punch (e.g., Hawaiian Punch)
  • 1 (64 oz) bottle of pineapple juice (100% juice preferred)
  • 1 (46 oz) can of orange juice
  • 1 (2 liter) bottle of lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7UP)
  • 1 cup of lime juice (freshly squeezed or bottled)
  • 1 bag of frozen gummy eyeballs (or any creepy-shaped gummy candy)
  • 1 bag of frozen mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 1 can of lychees (drained)
  • Dry ice (optional, for fog effect)
  • 1 ring mold or bundt pan (for ice ring)
  • Gummy worms, plastic spiders, or additional berries (for ice ring)
  • Water or extra fruit punch (for ice ring)
  • 1 cup of vodka (optional, e.g., Tito’s or Smirnoff)
  • 1 cup of white rum (optional, e.g., Bacardi or Cruzan)
  • 1 cup of coconut rum (optional, e.g., Malibu)

Instructions

  1. Make the ice ring the night before (or at least 6 hours ahead): Arrange gummy worms, plastic spiders, and berries in the bottom of a bundt pan or ring mold. Pour in enough fruit punch (or water) to cover them by about an inch. Freeze for 2 hours, then add more liquid to fill the mold completely. Freeze overnight.
  2. Chill all your ingredients: Put the fruit punch, pineapple juice, and orange juice in the fridge the day before. Chill the lemon-lime soda for about 2 hours before serving.
  3. Mix the base in a large pitcher: Combine the fruit punch, pineapple juice, orange juice, and lime juice. Stir well. If adding alcohol, stir it in now. Taste and adjust if needed.
  4. Add the creepy floaters: Pour the frozen gummy eyeballs and frozen mixed berries into the punch base. Drain the lychees and add them whole.
  5. Chill the mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Pour into the punch bowl: Transfer the mixture to your punch bowl, filling it about 2/3 full to leave room for the ice ring and soda.
  7. Add the ice ring just before serving: Remove the ice ring from the mold by running the outside under warm water for about 30 seconds. Float it in the punch bowl, frozen creepy things facing up.
  8. Top with lemon-lime soda: Pour the soda over the ice ring. Stir gently to combine, being careful not to break the ice ring too much.
  9. Add dry ice (if using): Using gloves or tongs, carefully add small pieces of dry ice to the punch bowl. Never put dry ice directly in someone’s cup. Add more dry ice every 20-30 minutes to maintain the fog effect.
  10. Serve and watch it disappear: Ladle into cups, making sure each serving gets a few gummy eyeballs and berries. Use clear plastic cups for best effect.

Notes

For a kid-friendly version, omit alcohol and replace with extra fruit punch or ginger ale. Label clearly to avoid confusion. The ice ring is key to keeping the punch cold without diluting it. Dry ice must be handled with care—never put it directly in cups. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days after removing gummy elements.
