A quick and easy whipped coffee recipe that creates a creamy, mousse-like foam served over iced milk, perfect for a refreshing coffee treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste; can substitute with brown sugar or coconut sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (just off boiling)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk (whole milk recommended, or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace: Gather all ingredients. Fill your serving glass with ice cubes and pour the milk over the ice. Set aside.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
  3. Add hot water: Carefully pour 2 tablespoons of hot water (around 195-205°F) over the coffee and sugar mixture.
  4. Whip the mixture: Using a hand whisk or electric mixer, beat the coffee mixture vigorously until it changes color and thickens (5-8 minutes by hand, 2-3 minutes with mixer).
  5. Look for stiff peaks: The whipped coffee should form glossy, stiff peaks that hold their shape.
  6. Assemble the drink: Spoon or pipe the whipped coffee foam on top of the glass of iced milk.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, stirring before drinking.

Notes

Chill your bowl and whisk for faster whipping. Use instant coffee powder for best results. Adjust sugar to taste but sugar helps stabilize the foam. Serve immediately for best texture. Vegan versions work well with oat, almond, or coconut milk.
