A quick, spicy, and creamy buffalo chicken dip featuring a dramatic spider web mozzarella topping. Perfect for game day, parties, or last-minute gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Shred the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a slow cooker or skillet, combine softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, buffalo sauce, and sour cream. Heat on low, stirring constantly until the cream cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth (10-15 minutes).
  3. Stir in the shredded chicken and half of the cheddar cheese until the chicken is coated.
  4. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the dip is hot and bubbly and the cheese is fully melted. Adjust consistency with milk or more buffalo sauce if needed.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Drizzle the mozzarella cheese over the cheddar in a crisscross pattern to create a spider web effect.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and let sit for 5 minutes, or broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the mozzarella is melted and slightly golden.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and serve immediately with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature to prevent lumps. Drain chicken well to avoid a watery dip. The spider web pattern does not need to be perfect; the goal is dramatic cheese pulls. For a healthier version, substitute Greek yogurt for half the sour cream and cream cheese.
