Cozy 4-Ingredient Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Cider

Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Cider - featured image

A simple, comforting warm drink made with just four ingredients in a slow cooker. This recipe recreates the nostalgic taste of autumn with pure apple cider, rich caramel sauce, heavy cream, and cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 64 oz (8 cups) 100% pure apple cider (cloudy, unfiltered)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce or syrup (dairy-based)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 whole cinnamon stick

Instructions

  1. Rinse the slow cooker insert and set it to the ‘Low’ heat setting.
  2. Pour the apple cider into the slow cooker insert.
  3. Add the caramel sauce to the cold cider and stir gently with a wooden spoon to help it dissolve before heating.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and add the whole cinnamon stick, stirring to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours, or until the mixture is hot but not boiling. Do not stir during this time.
  6. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving.
  7. Ladle into mugs and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Ensure you use pure apple cider, not apple juice cocktail, for the best flavor. If using a smaller slow cooker, halve the recipe. For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream or oat cream. To prevent clumping, add caramel to cold cider and stir before heating. Do not boil the mixture as it can separate the cream.
