A budget-friendly charcuterie board for two that turns any ordinary evening into an easy date night. No fancy ingredients, no stress, just good food shared with someone you care about.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block of sharp cheddar
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 4 oz salami or pepperoni
  • 4 oz ham or turkey slices
  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 apple or pear
  • A handful of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 sleeve of crackers
  • 1/2 cup pretzels or breadsticks
  • 2 tablespoons honey or jam
  • A handful of nuts (almonds or peanuts)
  • A few olives or pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your cheese: Take cheddar out of fridge 10 minutes before starting. Slice into thin triangles or cubes. Let cream cheese soften slightly and place in a small bowl or directly on the board.
  2. Prep the meats: Fold salami or pepperoni slices in half, then in half again to make triangles. Roll ham or turkey slices into tight logs.
  3. Wash and prep the produce: Rinse grapes and cherry tomatoes, pat dry. Slice apple or pear into thin wedges right before arranging.
  4. Set up the bowls: Spoon honey or jam into a small ramekin. Place olives or pickles in another small bowl. Place bowls on the board first.
  5. Arrange the cheese and meats: Place cheddar slices in one corner, cream cheese bowl in another. Put rolled ham and folded salami in separate spots.
  6. Add the fruits and veggies: Scatter grapes and cherry tomatoes in gaps. Fan out apple slices near the cheddar.
  7. Fill in with crunch: Arrange crackers and pretzels around edges. Sprinkle nuts in empty spaces.
  8. Final touch: Drizzle a tiny bit of honey over cream cheese or cheddar. Add fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor. Don’t overcrowd the board; leave space between items. Assemble about 15 minutes before serving to keep crackers crisp.
