A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip baked until bubbly and topped with a sour cream spider web design. Perfect for Halloween parties, game days, or any gathering where you want to impress your guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk (optional, for thinning sour cream)
  • Tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or crackers for serving
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and buffalo hot sauce. Beat together with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth and evenly pink-orange, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the shredded chicken and ranch seasoning. Mix on low speed just until combined.
  4. Fold in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses using a rubber spatula. Reserve about 1/4 cup of cheddar for sprinkling on top.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  6. Sprinkle the reserved cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  8. While the dip bakes, prepare the spider web design: In a small bowl, stir the sour cream until smooth. If too thick, add milk one teaspoon at a time until pipeable. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag and snip a tiny corner off.
  9. Remove the dip from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Pipe concentric circles of sour cream starting from the center outward. Use a toothpick to drag from the center outward through the circles (8-10 times), then from the outside inward between each spoke to create a web pattern. Wipe the toothpick clean between each drag.
  11. Garnish with chopped green onions or chives if desired. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, celery sticks, and carrot sticks.

Notes

Let the dip cool for 2-3 minutes before piping the sour cream design to prevent melting. For best results, use room temperature cream cheese and sour cream. The dip can be prepared a day ahead (without the sour cream design) and baked fresh on party day.
