A quick and easy recipe for crispy air fryer hot dogs with perfectly charred skin, ready in just 8 minutes. Perfect for a satisfying snack or casual meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 classic beef or pork hot dogs
  • Cooking spray or a light mist of vegetable or olive oil
  • Optional toppings: mustard, ketchup, relish, chopped onions, sauerkraut
  • Optional hot dog buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it heat for 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly spray each hot dog with cooking spray or brush a thin layer of oil all over.
  3. Place the hot dogs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching.
  4. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 4 minutes until the skin starts to blister slightly.
  5. Using tongs, flip the hot dogs over carefully.
  6. Continue cooking for another 4 minutes until the skins turn golden brown with charred spots.
  7. If desired, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness, being careful not to dry them out.
  8. Serve immediately in buns or on a plate with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Flip hot dogs halfway through cooking for best results. Use a light coating of oil to achieve crispy skin. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness. Avoid microwaving to keep the charred texture intact.
