A quick and easy 10-minute snack featuring sweet Medjool dates wrapped in crispy bacon, perfect for parties and last-minute guests.

Ingredients

  • Medjool dates, pitted, large-sized
  • Bacon slices, thin-cut
  • Optional fillings: toasted almonds or pecans
  • Optional fillings: cream cheese or goat cheese
  • Toothpicks, wooden or bamboo
  • Optional spices: smoked paprika or black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it warm up for about 3 minutes.
  2. If dates are not pitted, slice one side open and remove the pit. Stuff each date with about 1 teaspoon of optional filling if desired.
  3. Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise. Wrap each date with one half slice of bacon, overlapping slightly, and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Sprinkle optional spices lightly over the bacon-wrapped dates if using.
  5. Arrange the dates in a single layer in the air fryer basket with space between each. For batches larger than 10, cook in two rounds.
  6. Cook for 9-10 minutes, flipping the dates halfway through cooking using tongs.
  7. Let the dates cool for 2 minutes in the basket before transferring to a plate.

Notes

Use thin-cut bacon for best crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Flip halfway through cooking. Pat dry bacon if too wet. Secure bacon tightly with toothpicks to prevent unraveling. Test one piece first to check crispness. If using thick-cut bacon or a hotter air fryer, reduce cooking time by 1-2 minutes.
